Anne Berner

Anne-BernerAnne Berner serves as Finland’s Minister of Transport and Communications, as well as a first-term Member of Parliament. Although she has been on the job just a year, Berner already has made her mark on how the world moves by actively engaging with world leaders on the global mobility solutions of tomorrow.

She has been a champion for the digitalization of transport services and of pursuing mobility as a service concept. She has also been very active in enhancing use of big data and personal data to enable innovative, customer-oriented transport services as well as in promoting the unique 5G test network established in Finland. Because Finland’s goal is to be one of the top countries providing digital transport services, Berner is driving efforts to develop new types of service concepts in the transport sector and enabling technology-neutral legislation. She is working to bring together all legal provisions on the transport market under one act, the Transport Code.

Berner’s public leadership extends into matters related to Nordic cooperation. Her agency is an integral part of a public-private partnership that’s helping to advance world-class ecosystems of intelligent transport systems and services and automated driving. One of those is Aurora project, which is being developed as an internationally unique information-based testing area and competence center for intelligent transport automation in Finnish Lapland.

Berner is an experienced CEO who has shown how public-private collaboration can be a force for change in the global mobility sector.
